The apparitions of the saints of God's favored ones and their gracious and miraculous help to people take place in many ways. Often the ways and means they use in their miracles are, to put it mildly, fascinating. The saints really use everything in their appearances in order to reach the consciousness and souls of those they help.
This happened to my friends on July 2, 2009, the day after the blessed repose of Elder Joseph of Vatopedi. My friend and her husband were going through a very difficult period in their marriage. The father-in-law and mother-in-law created a problem because they were hostile to their daughter-in-law, and they did not treat their son well either. They tried to make quarrel between the spouses in order to get them to divorce.
My friends had four children, and their father-in-law and mother-in-law created problems and quarrels in various ways and through letters. They also managed to persuade their relatives to be against them. Since my friends were the spiritual children of Elder Jefrem Vatopedski, they did not return the fire, but showed patience and tried to save their family. Yet, as human beings, they suffered because of everything that happened to them. The woman thought it was all her fault because everyone was against her and she was overwhelmed with despair. Elder Jefrem told her that it was not her fault and that she should forget all that. However, she could not cope with the negative thoughts.
The day after the death of Elder Joseph, while my friend was driving the children to school, she heard a voice on the radio that clearly said not to let Satan enter her house and that she must get rid of him, because his great desire is to break up marriages and families. . Her voice also told her that everything that happens to her is not her fault, but it is Satan who encourages her to think that it is her fault and who creates unnecessary problems for her. When she returned home, she told her husband that she had listened to a very good sermon on the radio given by an old man, which was about their problem. When the husband got in the car, he was listening to an interview with the Elder Joseph of Vatopedi, who was leading a reporter for the Limassol radio station. The interview was great but had nothing to do with their problem. He was thinking of asking for a CD to listen to with his wife. He did so by requesting a copy of the CD.
The next day he went to an evening service at a nearby monastery. While he was driving, he played a CD, but in no part did the old man talk about what his wife was saying. So the husband thought it was all weird. Then he remembered that while his wife was driving the children to school, the monastery was broadcasting the Holy Liturgy on the radio, and not something else. We cannot understand what happened by our own logic. Elder Joseph spoke to his wife during the Holy Liturgy!
This proves that Elder Joseph pleased God and received the gift of being able to help people who are suffering and suffering due to demon attacks, but also slandering people.
This event proves to us not only the special gift of the Elder, but also that there is life after death, and that our God is the Living God. Our Lord is not a theory or science fiction as many people He created think and doubt.
I told all this to the Abbot of Vatopedi, Elder Efrem. He was not surprised, because he knew what kind of life the Old Man lived. Metropolitan Atanasie Limasolski was also informed, and he confirmed that the Holy Liturgy was in the morning.
