About Orthodox Church

The Orthodox Christian Church is the oldest Christian Church in the world. It was founded by Jesus Christ and is the living manifestation of His presence in the history of the mankind whose beginnings were recorded in the New Testament. This is the Church that wrote, compiled, canonized and preserved the Holy Scriptures, that verbalized the traditional doctrines of Christianity, and for 2,000 years has believed and lived the same faith. And, it is the faith that was “handed once to the saints “(Jude 3),  passed on to the apostles by Jesus Christ, and then handed down from one generation to the next inside the Church. Without adding or subtracting anything. The Christian Orthodox Church has roughly 250 million members worldwide and is second in size to the Roman Catholic Church.  But, despite its size, moderately few Americans know that it exists.

Since all of us are in this earthly life exposed to various negative energies and evil spirits, it is necessary (in addition to the faith we all carry in his hearts) to have and wear visible crosses, Christian medallions, and pendants as a defense against evil forces. Crosses and medallions with the images of Lord Christ, Mother of God, or some Saints should be worn around our necks as an indication of commitment to our Christian faith. They aren’t supposed to be worn because of fashion and ornamentation but because  of a deep faith that the holy shrine (which represents our God)  will help and protect us in our everyday lives. Keep in mind that it is not Christian-like to wear large crosses over inappropriate clothes as it defeats the purpose and obscures the whole meaning of wearing them.
