The boy was only five years old, he often had headaches and after a certain time his parents took him to the doctor. A terrible realization awaited them there, the boy has a severe form of cancer and will soon lose his sight.
The doctor’s dire premonitions came true within a month, the boy became blind, and the only solution was to take out his eyes in order to survive. The operation was supposed to be done in England, and the parents had the money for it – but imagine the hell of that child’s further life. One day they decided to go to the island of Aegina and that’s where the incredible story begins.
Elder Nektarios Vitalis welcomed the little boy with his parents and heard the shocking event, he was saddened and cried out to God as he listened to it all. “Dear Grandpa, please listen to me,” said the boy. “I have toys at home and I don’t need them, I don’t see myself playing with them, and my parents won’t give them to other children, dear grandfather, tell them to do that, please,” added the little angel.
Elder Nektarios Vitalis brought him to the icon and anointed him with holy oil from the lamp next to the icon of Saint Nektarios of Aegina. “Dear grandfather, how is Saint Nectarius? Is the icon large? How far does it go? “I don’t see him at all, but I would like to see him,” said the boy. They left Aegina very sad, and the old man stayed to pray.
After a few weeks the boy went to England, they were going to take out his eyes. However, an incredible miracle happened, there was no cancer, the head was completely clean on the scanner – no changes. The boy’s parents immediately took the boy to Aegina as a sign of gratitude and the little boy immediately came to Father Nektarios Vitalis and said:
“Dear grandfather, why are you so thin, do you remember me?” said the boy. The old man could not remember who it was, and the little one immediately said loudly: “Dear grandfather, I can see him again, Saint Nectarius visited and healed me, oh boy, how I look forward to him, and I was sorry that I couldn’t see him that day, now I’m here and I’m very happy,” the little boy finished.
Today he is in the third grade and is one of the best students. Whoever turned to Saint Nectarius was healed! Just believe, FAITH IS EVERYTHING!
