INCREDIBLE MIRACLE IN THE SERBIAN SANCTUARY: At the moment when the whole world is fighting the coronavirus, HOPE COMES FROM THE CHURCH IN LJUBOVIJA (Serbia)- Icons are Myrrh Streaming -GOD IS SENDING US A SIGN

A miracle happened last week in the temple of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Ljubovija. Three icons from the iconostasis released myrrh during the service of the Holy Liturgy, which, in accordance with the prohibitions of gathering, was attended only by the clergy.

Icons of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Mother of God and the Holy Archangel Michael have been myrrh streaming for several days, to the joy of the believers there.

“Sometimes before the end of the Holy Liturgy, I glanced at the icon of the Lord Jesus Christ and then noticed that there was a puddle of oil at the bottom of the iconostasis. My first thought was the oil spilled  from the oil lamps, although physically it could not spill right into that place. At the end of the Holy Liturgy, I called the churchman and asked him to take a napkin and wipe that oil” – he said.

However, he, another priest and a churchman soon realized that it was not ordinary oil.

“When it was wiped off, the paint from the iconostasis disappeared. I sniffed the napkin, to see what it was. And the smell was beautiful. It reminded me of myrrh. Then we noticed that the same liquid appeared under the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, as well as the Holy Archangel Michael”- he said.

Three days later, the same thing happened during the vigil, and the pleasant smell spread through the church.

“I was at the vigil with three other people who sang. We noticed that the smell comes from the frescoes of St. Sergius next to the choir. I really think and believe that in these difficult days, God is sending us a sign that he has not forgotten us, that he thinks about us” – the priest said.

The news of this phenomenon spread very quickly among Christians in Serbia. With this miracle they found solace at the moment when, due to the ban on gatherings, they were not allowed to attend the Holy Liturgy in the monastery for three weeks.
