Dragana Vasić from Sijekovac near Brod survived the fall from the cliff near the Ostrog monastery without injury. Falling into a precipice of about a hundred meters, while hitting the rocks, she did not suffer a single fracture or serious injury.
During a visit to the Ostrog monastery, Dragana Vasić fell down a stone cliff about 100 meters deep and survived. Not only did she survive, but she didn’t suffer a single fracture, and baffled doctors took at least three x-rays to make sure it was true. Here is her story:
I spent the night in the monastery on July 16, and the next day I attended the prayer and worshiped the relics of St. Vasilij Ostroski. When I touched the casket, I cannot describe the feeling I experienced. I knew that Saint Vasilije Ostroski was with me, I knew that he was there.
Before returning home, we took a break in front of the bus. I sat down with a girl, and there was a cliff next to us. At one point the girl stood up. I was on crutches, I started walking and then my foot slipped and it pulled me down.
At the moment of her fall, as she says, her life turned before her eyes, but then she just prayed and knew that Saint Basil was with her and that nothing bad would happen to her.
– I hit my head on rocks as sharp as knives. Rolling down the cliff, at one point, it was as if something just put me on the ground. That cliff is so steep, but when I was falling, it was as if someone stopped me and reached out a hand towards the tree I was clinging to. I don’t understand how I stopped…
Although injured, tired and in the heat, Dragana consciously met the rescuers who took about two hours to reach her.
The rescuer asked me if I could move a little to get into the trough and called a colleague to help me. I said, I can move and I don’t need help, I can enter by myself. The savior then burst into tears, and I don’t remember anything from that moment.
I only remember when they took me upstairs, that I kissed the cross, took water and cried. Only dear God and Saint Vasilije saved me, as soon as I stood on my feet again, I went to him again.
If something is going to happen to me, it will happen to me in my house, just not there. When Saint Vasilije is with me, nothing can happen to me – said Dragana.
Prota Milorad Bajbić from Podnovlje, who witnessed this event, says that only the grace of God saved Dragan from serious injuries:
– By the miracle of dear God and Saint Basil, she remained almost unharmed. When the rescuers pulled her out, she first kissed my pectoral cross and then cried. Glory to God and Saint Basil.
Dragana was taken alone to the Emergency Center in Podgorica. The doctors were shocked, because she did not suffer a single fracture.
– They took x-rays and ultrasounds three times to make sure, they couldn’t believe that there was no fracture. People find it strange, but I don’t. I am not afraid of anything, as soon as I stand on my feet again, I will go to Ostrog.
This amazing story does not end here. The miracles continued to happen.
– Maybe no one will believe me, I haven’t told anyone that, so I’ll say it now. Here, I will cross myself, so if I have made a mistake, may God punish me. A day or two before I was going to go on a pilgrimage, I was in the yard and when the sun was setting, I saw something flying in the sky, as if a man was standing up there and leaving.
I kept quiet about it, I didn’t want to say anything because it’s not talked about. There is something there, it’s angels. A man falls off the bed, hits his head and dies, and this happened to me and I’m alive.
I was wounded on November 14, on the day of Saints Cosma and Damian, who saved me, and now I fell when I was on Ostrog and Saint Vasilije saved me. Not only that, God saved me from many things, there is nothing I have not been through. And believe me, children, God exists – concluded Dragana.
Dragana Vasić has been confined to a wheelchair ever since she was injured by a landmine as a five-year-old girl in 1992, and thanks to her mother, prayers and exercises, she was able to walk.
