Both being of Serbian decent, Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich and Nikola Tesla were very good friends. This was evidenced by an anecdote that was created from one of their meetings in which they talked about science and religion.
The Holy Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich was a close friend of Nikola Tesla. The two of them often called each other Tocayo (person with the same name as another). When Bishop was in America in 1927, he visited the famous scientist and Tesla invited him to his laboratory.
As soon as the bishop opened the door of the Tesla Laboratory, Tesla put in motion a thousand of wheels and gears.
– My friend, what id you just do? What kind of force is it that drives such wheels? “Asked Bishop Nikolai.
“You know, you’re an educated man, you should know what it is?” Tesla answered.
– What is it?
– Electricity, tocayo!
– Since you are such a big expert on electricity, tell me whether your science will reveal the way to see this current of power by a naked eye.
“Never,” Tesla said, “while the world exists.”
– Then why are people asking to see God? For there is power even when you cannot see it with a naked eye – concluded Bishop Nikolai.
